Let's look at the structure of the work in the «‎Reset» section of the Hetzner cloud dedicated server control panel.

After logging into the dashboard account and going to the «‎Reset» section, we see similar information.

• Current status — displays the current status of the dedicated server

• Server is running —active. Accordingly, the Server is off will be disabled).

Next, we see the hardware restart methods available for selection, called the category «‎Reset type».

• «‎Press power button of server» — performs the function of a standard physical «‎Start» button on the computer case. If the dedicated server is turned off, then this option is to start it. If the equipment is active, in this case, an ACPI signal will be sent to shut down unilaterally (without restarting).

• «‎Execute an automatic hardware reset» —performs a full standard restart of the dedicated server hardware with the condition of disconnection and subsequent activation. It works on the principle of the «‎Reset» button on the computer case.

• «Order a manual hardware reset» — automatically creates and sends an application to the technical department for a manual attempt to start the server under diagnostic conditions. A similar option is required if problems with starting/restarting the server are detected. But in this case, it may take more time to carry out diagnostic work.
