Last updated 3 months ago

After activation of the server ordered at the Hetzner data center, the «» section will be a toolbar for working with the service. Among the available options are server restart, system reinstallation, and SystemRescue request.

Standard restart

The first restart button performs a normal restart according to the following principle.

  • «‎Execute an automatic hardware reset» — performs a full standard restart of the dedicated server hardware with the condition of disabling and then enabling. Works on the principle of the button «Reset» on the case of the computer.

Reinstalling the OS

Performs a system reinstallation in RAID1 followed by displaying a new password in the «Instruction» section.

Additional Reboot

The section provides an addition to the usual restart method, providing additional tools for working with the server state.

In this way, you can perform the necessary operation according to the requirements.

  • «‎Press power button of server» - performs the function of the standard physical button «‎Start» on the case of the computer. If the dedicated server is disabled, this option will start it. If the hardware is active, then an ACPI signal will be sent to complete the work unilaterally (without restarting).

  • «‎Execute an automatic hardware reset» — performs a full standard restart of the dedicated server hardware with the condition of disabling and then enabling. Works on the principle of the button «Reset» on the case of the computer.

  • «Order a manual hardware reset» — automatically creates and sends an application to the technical department for a manual attempt to start the server under diagnostic conditions. A similar option is required if problems with starting/restarting the server are detected. But in this case, it may take more time to carry out diagnostic work.

Activating Rescue

Request to connect System Rescue for the purpose of technical work with the server system.

The password for connecting to Rescue is located in the service settings.
