Preface

The ordering process of each service is quite similar, but we suggest you to consider the main types of services, such as «Virtual server», «Dedicated server», «Web-hosting», «FTP-repository». These services can have additional parameters that you should pay attention to when ordering.

Virtual servers

Nothing more than VPS/VDS. Go to the section «Products/Services» -> «Virtual servers», then use the button «Order».

On the page that opens, you can select the location of interest from the available list, as well as the period for which the selected service will be ordered.

After selecting the server you like, use the «Order» button.

On the next page you will see a complete list of the parameters of the future server.

  • Auto-renewal is optional and implies automatic withdrawal of funds from the personal account to extend the service. Please note that we do not charge money directly from bank cards, so 24 hours before the end of the service you should check the availability of the necessary amount for renewal. In case the service has been delayed, the extension should be performed manually on the «Virtual Servers» page using the «Extend» button.

  • HostName is a domain name that will be assigned to your service address and has the form «site.com». You can not specify any value, in this case the subdomain of type «ID.vm.spacecore.network» will be assigned.

  • The operating system that will be installed during the activation of the service. After receiving the data to access the control panel you will be able to reinstall the OS to another or identical (if necessary).

  • Preinstalled software means using automatic scripts to install software on your server immediately after the service is activated. This is optional, all programs can be installed manually by you.

You can also specify the number of services to order at the same time.

After setting all the necessary parameters, add the server to the trash using the appropriate button.

If available, you can specify a promo code. Check the correctness of the selected service and use the button to place an order.

Select the appropriate payment method. Please note that the «Personal Account» method is available only if there are sufficient funds to pay.

Upon completion, a notification will be displayed.

You can see the activated service on the «Virtual Servers» page.

What is RAID on dedicated servers?

This is a technology for combining multiple hard drives into a single logical array. It is designed to increase the reliability of data storage and/or increase the speed of reading/writing data.

The most commonly used RAID types on our servers:

  • RAID 0: Increases read/write speed by splitting data into parts and distributing them evenly across all disks. However, this does not provide redundancy, so if one of the disks fails, all data is lost.

  • RAID 1: Offers data mirroring, which means that all data is duplicated on two or more disks. This increases reliability, but costs twice as much in terms of storage, since the total amount of free space is reduced by half of the original. Example: if you use two 2TB disks and combine them into a common RAID 1 array, you will get 2TB of free space.

In simple terms, RAID 0 should be used to get the full amount of disk memory and combine them into a common array, RAID 1 — to increase data security.
